What Does a Life Coach Actually Do?

A practical thinking partner

My job as a life coach is to help you slow things down, hear your own thinking, and figure out what to do next. I may ask questions, reflect something I notice, help you organize your options, or hold you accountable for a step you chose.

What happens in a session?

You can come in with a decision, a goal, a problem that keeps repeating, or simply the sense that something needs to change. We talk through what is happening, decide what would be useful, and identify a realistic next step.

What a coach does not do

I do not diagnose or treat mental-health conditions, provide psychotherapy or medical care, make decisions for you, or guarantee an outcome. If your need is clinical or urgent, a qualified professional is the right first resource.

What can we work on?

Common topics include career and life direction, confidence, habits, communication, boundaries, work-life balance, accountability, transitions, and follow-through.
